the bondage jukebox: the best bdsm music and bondage songs
A Mylene Farmer cd cover. I found a myspace tribute page to her. Her music is like most 80's metal: easy listening music with drums and distorted guitar. Lots of thick synth pads, too ... kind of Enya with hairly legs, but in a good way. Mylene is clearly endowed with amazing talents. A HUGE star in Europe. One of may artists featured on the Bondage Jukebox:::: The French Madonna makes like Joan Jett crossed with Catherine Deneuve in some of the most amazing bdsmy concerts you've never seen, in which she prances in latex hobble dresses, steel-cage ponygirl attire and other visual delights while cooing ethereal over a heavy-metal soundtrack. She even managed to sneak a naughty song ("L'Histoire d'une fÈe, c'est..." the last two words of which translate phonetically into "fessee," French for spanking) onto the soundtrack for Rugrats In Paris. (more on the flipflop)
Interestingly, the myspace tribute page had, among its graphics, a Thomas Kincade (Painter of Light™) Christmas card illustration that lights up ... so we have latex hobble dresse, pony girl hardware and Thomas Kinkade? Kink-ade? That simple fact should tell you all you need to know about the music of Mylene Farmer. I am, nonetheless very impressed with her talents. Adrian Hunter is a writer of erotica it seems. I can't read the stuff myself. The only porn I like is naked girls spanking each other. No men, thank you! But back to Adrian. He has compiled an extensive list of all the pop and rock songs out there with S&M or bondage themes, linking to snippets in Real Audio on amazon.com. If I were a betting man, I'd wager he is an amazon associate. No matter. It's a pretty comprehensive collection. He is into the S&M scene for real, judging by his site. When my article "The Gentlemanly Art of Spanking" was published at Salon.com, I got dozens of letters from S&M people telling me what an idiot I was and how little I knew about anything of importance. The letters all had the same very self-important tone. And it finally dawned on me that true S&M people are about as edgy and interesting as Republican Rotarians in the midwest. Perhaps they are one and the same! I remember when I was trying to sell HoneyBun Spanking Kits to the Lesbian Cooperative, Good Vibrations. The 22 yr. old rubber queen that was in charge of lubes and lotions told me they wouldn't carry the product because it "too cute for the S&M crowd." I replied that HoneyBun was not for the S&M crowd, but for vanilla people who wanted to get naughty. As a member of the dungeons-and-dragon sexual underground of the SF Bay Area, this was a concept around which she could not seem to wrap her mind.
